What Makes My Astrology Readings Different

Professional Astrologer was never a title I was striving for. Astrology was something I kind of just fell into. There’s a whole story behind that but I’ll save it for another blog. Recently I temporarily discontinued my Astrology Readings. I find a lot of joy in doing readings but I don’t always love them.

I noticed I had been feeling somewhat disenchanted by one off readings – they are a lot of work for little reward. These aren’t your standard natal chart readings by any means – but let me explain what makes them different to give more context.

How I Found Astrology

Let’s start with I’m a traditional predictive hellenistic astrologer. I use the whole sign house system. I specialize is Zodiacal Releasing – an ancient timing technique that quite literally shows you the energetic forecast of periods of time within your life. Seriously – it’s insane how accurate this timing technique is.

I wasn’t really into astrology until I found Zodiacal Releasing. I randomly scrolled across a couple of videos from astrologers talking about the zodiacal releasing of different politicians that were just so spot on I had to know more. I was completely captivated and NEEDED to know how to read my own. I found a course that focused on Zodiacal Releasing, Annual Profections, Transits, and Lunar Progressions. This was my first astrology course and it was like I had this deep soul remembering activated – these advanced astrology techniques just clicked. I had done this before – maybe not in this lifetime – but astrology wasn’t new to me.

I wanted to read anyone’s chart I could get my hands on.

So all that to say – my astrology career started by learning more advanced techniques and then I backed my way into learning the basics [far from the traditional path]. I have now taken over 24 hours of course work on Zodiacal Releasing alone.

Astrology changed the way I view the world. It’s the coolest system I’ve ever studied. It’s the most perfect mirror to life exactly as it is already happening. I don’t use astrological transits to justify what’s happening but rather to empower my choices so I can fully embody my soul gifts. I feel like there are so many astrologers out there on the social platforms that make every transit sound like it’s the worst thing that could possibly happen to you and while I’m all for living aware – I don’t believe astrology should scare you.

Starting the Astrology Side of My Business

I started doing readings just for friends as a way to practice reading and interpreting as many charts as I could. When you’re learning Astrology you’re often told to study celebrity charts but I’ve never been a pop culture girly so that wasn’t helpful for me – I needed to read charts where I was personally aware of that persons lived experiences. And what I realized was it was never enough just to read the natal chart – it was the whole picture (the natal chart with the timing and the astrocartography) that made understanding your astrology so impactful.

With every reading I did I became more and more captivated by the way astrology could support a person in understanding their unique story (their natal promise). It was a permission slip to further explore the things they already knew but maybe weren’t ready to fully see.

After a couple of months the feedback was becoming more consistent – “I felt so seen” – “This expanded my world in a way I didn’t know was possible” – “I’ve never had a reading before where I left feeling like I understood how to actually take action and this changed that”.

And so I started offering paid astrology readings.

But here’s the thing – I’ve invested in astrology readings at various price points and for the most part after the reading you get the recording of the session and that’s it. But that didn’t ever feel like enough support for me. I wanted to be able to provide support beyond a recording.

I wanted to be able to provide an easy to read report (that would be supportive regardless of what level you are at) that served as a reference guide for understanding how astrology applies to your day-to-day life. Some astrologers would probably tell me I’m overdoing it – making it hard on myself. I disagree. I think it’s part of what sets my readings apart.

I’m a big picture visionary that loves and obsesses over the little details – Mars in Virgo in the 10th energy for sure! I wanted to be able to paint the big picture in our call together but then provide you with a more nuanced reference guide to refer back to after the fact.

I realized I was incapable of limiting a reading to a specific facet of astrology – I wanted to talk about whatever felt intuitively relevant. So many astrologers limit readings to a specific facet – like just a natal chart reading, just astrocartography, just transits, just zodiacal releasing and if astrology readings were the only thing I offered maybe I would feel differently on this but because I’m only able to offer a certain number of readings a month I couldn’t get myself to compartmentalize in the same way others do with readings.

But also – I was spending multiple hours prepping and finalizing the resource guides I send out. I have a template now but astrology is so personal it still takes time to build out.

And so I couldn’t justify offering $100 readings. There are so many astrologers out there that offer $100 readings but if you purchase a $100 reading – you’re likely getting $100 quality and that just wasn’t working for me.

So I had to stop under charging and start pricing my readings for the work that was actually going into them – they are more expensive than the average reading when you look at the sliding scale of prices out there and I’m okay with that. The disenchantment feeling was partially because I felt under compensated (which was on me) and partially because I kept trying to put rules around what I could include in readings (and these rules didn’t need to exist!).

What Makes My Astrology Readings Unique

When you choose to book an Astrology Reading with me we look at each house in your natal chart and the story it tells. We look at the stories your personal planets tell and also the generational stories of the outer planets.

We look at lunar progressions – focusing on the progressed moon, progressed sun and the progressed lunar phase you are in. I personally think the progressed moon is one of the most underrated pieces of astrology out there.

Did you know your progressed moon moves zodiac signs roughly every 2.5 years? My natal moon is in Scorpio. I learned about progressed moon during my Pisces progressed moon. My Pisces progressed moon phase felt very internal, reflective, slow, almost dream-like. When I moved into my Aries progressed moon my energy shifted drastically. I felt energized, motivated, and like I finally had clarity. Knowing where your progressed moon is alone can be the permission slip you didn’t know you needed.

We look at current transits – sometimes we explore on a micro level and sometimes we look more at the generational shifts were experiencing on a macro level (outer planet movement).

We explore timing techniques. Zodiacal Releasing and Annual Profections. Did you know there’s an astrology technique that can help you to anticipate energetic shifts in life? What if you were going through a health struggle and you could see that you’re in challenging energy for the next two years but after that its going to improve? Or what if I could show you that this particular month this year is helping to align you with your souls purpose and that it’s a good time to pay attention to what your intuition is bringing forward. What if I could show you which planet and which house is most activated for you? Knowing your time lord alone can tell you so much on its own.

We explore astrocartography – the energy of space. Did you know that different places around the world hold different energies for you? But it’s not as simple as find that line on a map. That energy may shift and evolve based on the aspects that planet makes in your natal chart. It may shift and evolve when transiting planets apply to that planet in your natal chart.

My point is – we look at it all. We look at the full picture. We talk about your North and South nodes. We talk about your Chiron placement. We look at so much more than a standard reading. This is why my readings are usually 90-120 minutes long. This is why you a detailed report and recap after the session.

Final Thoughts

As soon as I got rid of my readings, I had multiple past clients ask for the link to readings to share with others in their network.

So I went back to the drawing board – how could I continue to offer readings in a way that felt aligned? The answer was I just have to do them my way. I’m not going to pair them down to be just like all the other readings out there.
